About USW Health Service

The University Health Service is part of a comprehensive health service for students, staff and visitors. It is part of the Wellbeing and Disability Service. The service is Nurse-led and is a supplement to the services provided by your GP and the NHS.


Register with USW Health Service - you will need to do this before we can help you. 


Appointments with a nurse are available at Treforest, the ATRiuM and Newport City Campuses. Telephone appointments are also availab;e should you not feel well enough to attend an appointment in person. Our Nurse Advisers can offer help and advice with:


* Registering with a local GP surgery

* Common Health Ailments very often you DON'T need to see a Dr for most common ailments , therefore the advice will include signposting you to the most relevant service to help you as well as self-treatment options from the Pharmacy.

* Wound Care and Minor Injuries

* Advise and information on issues such as; but not limited too

 - Repeat Prescriptions

 - Contraception Choices

 - Sexual Health Issues

 - Food, Diet & Nutrition

 - Sleep problems
