The University Health Service offers free health advice and support to all USW Students. We form part of your overall healthcare provision, alongside your GP, pharmacist, dentist, the National Health Service and other parts of the University.

We are based on the Treforest Campus and also have a presence at both Cardiff and Newport City Campuses.

Our nurse-led University Health Service offers a wide range of services to all members of the University community including students, staff and visitors. Nurse appointment service for advice on all types of ailments and problems. We are here to act as a supplement to the service provided by your GP.

General Health Advice

The University Health Centre is based on the Pontypridd Campus. There is also a nurse presence at the Newport City Campus. The Service provides free health advice to all students enrolled at the University of South Wales.


On the Treforest Campus the Health Centre works in partnership with Ashgrove Surgery in Pontypridd and Llanedeyrn Health Centre in Cardiff to provide appointments with doctors at the University Health Centre in Treforest and Atrium in Cardiff. You can register with either of these Practices at the University Health Centre. Alternatively, if you are living and studying in Cardiff you can collect registration forms for the Atrium Health Clinic from the Advice Centre at Atrium. USW nurses have strong links with GP surgeries in the Newport area and can assist students studying in the area with NHS registration.
